School of Frock are holding a special workshop with textile designer – Helen Banzhaf at the School of Frock Studio on Saturday 4th February. Helen will show you how to transform a piece of ordinary fabric into a fabulous piece of art – and all with a simple sewing machine! How cool would it be to create something so beautiful!
I am personally hopeless at sewing but would so love to be able to take after my mum and sister who are naturally gifted in the sewing department. Fortunately my eldest daughter has the gene and attends Cilenes’s classes every week, which are fantastic. She regularly comes home with a creation you could imagine buying in a shop! Below are some images of some very pensive little students at Cilene’s class.
Crafty Cooks will be at Rhubarb and Custard Cafe on Manor Lane, Lee during the half term week commencing 13th February. Times TBA but I strongly suggest booking soon. Classes are popular and are sure to keep little ones entertained and they learn how to cook! What’s not to love?
A Concert for Andy
Saturday 4th February sees a very special performance in tribute to the frontman of the Icarus Club, Andy Ropek, who sadly passed away at the end of 2011. Singer/song-writers who have performed with the Icarus Club join together in an evening of music to celebrate this well-loved music promoter.
The Icarus Club exists to promote, encourage and generally enthuse about singer/songwriters and instrumentalists, providing them with a space for their music to be heard whether they be seasoned veterans trying out new material, newcomers just starting out, and all points in between!
