I hope you all had a lovely time over Christmas and New Year. I know that I have loved spending time with my family, without me or my husband rushing off here, there and everywhere. However I do need to get back into some kind of routine. I’m shocked at how lazy I have become and I have no idea how I will wake up before 9am when the kids go back to school. I’ve eaten for England and if I never see a thorntons chocolate again, it will be too soon! That was definitely the preferred choice of gift to give to our family this Christmas and I think I know every single flavour going!
You may remember me mentioning that I will be writing the interiors column for the Guide Magazine. If you haven’t already seen the hardcopy doing the rounds, click here for a chance to read the digital version.
Top Drawer is a gift and homeware trade fair which is held twice a year at Earls Court. The next one is coming up in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to source some new and exciting products to stock at the shop. There are already some new suppliers in the pipeline and I know you will just love what they have to offer.
In the meantime, the shop has a crazy sale going on with the last few gorgeous items on a half price sale!
See you soon
To everyone who has supported us this year in what can only be described as very uncertain times, we thank you. Independent shops in particular have to fight to survive and we are very lucky to have loyal customers who make running a little shop very enjoyable.
I’m writing this on Christmas Eve at the shop. The last customer has left and all is very quiet. I find myself reflecting on the past year and can’t quite believe another year has almost finished. What is it about the older you get, the quicker the years go by? However, I’m looking forward to 2012 and to new beginnings.
I know that tomorrow I will be enjoying some uninterrupted time with my family and can’t wait to see the look on my children’s faces when they open their presents.

Last Saturday was the annual Hither Green Christmas Fair. It was such a lovely example of a community coming together, even though the weather was fierce! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported all the businesses and stall holders on Staplehurst Road – It was very much appreciated!
During all the madness, I took this photo of the shop front, courtesy of instagram and for me, it really captures one quiet moment during a very busy day!
See you soon
