Nostalgia and Memories

Kids and Grown Ups favourite Dear Zoo is celebrating it’s 30th year this Autumn and I for one can’t quite believe all those years have passed already!

When I was a teenager, I used to babysit for 3 beautiful boys and I remember reading this book to them and it was always a very popular bedtime story with them all shouting out the animal sounds.  When I was pregnant with my first child, I remember one of the first things I bought was this book and it went on to become one of her favourites.  When my three other children came along they all had the same reaction to it and I can still hear them all making the elephant trumpeting sound with their arm acting as a trunk…makes me go a bit bleary eyed just thinking about it.

When I watched the video below I could so relate to all the personal memories.

We will hopefully be running a competition and giveaway as well as maybe, with any luck an interview with the man himself, Rod Campbell. More on that soon ….

On a slightly different note but sticking with nostalgia, how about this for a genius idea? You know how when we go to concerts, theatres, or even to watch a film at the cinema and, for whatever reason we hang onto the ticket as a momento?  Well Ticket Coaster have come up with the perfect way to remember those unforgettable memories by turning them into unique souvenir coasters!

Made by sandwiching layers of cork backed board and clear heat resistant laminate and then your ticket is preserved for you to use everyday and to show off to your friends and relatives.

I love innovative ideas and not only are they useful but they look cool too!  Go HERE for more information.

See you soon

Foxes and Owls

These are our newest additions to Home & Kids and let me tell you, in all my years of having a shop, I have never had such a great response to a new product.  We showed them at A Most Curious Baby Show in Norwich and they received soooooo many compliments.  So big up to Helen Gordon for being so talented!

As well as the prints we’ve also got a selection of her baby wear. Not only are they the sweetest designs, but they’re super soft and the quality is second to none!

All these are available to buy online or if you want an up close view come and visit the shop – we’d love to see you!

See you soon!

Art Prints & Festivals

The beauty of twitter is that sometimes you come across something you instantly love!  That  was the case for these fantastics prints by Showler & Showler.

Can you see the penguin with the balloons from the first picture? Clever!

Hopefully I’ll be stocking them soon but in the meantime visit their website to see more
